Taser Pulse, A Compact Personal Defense Gadget That Packs A Punch

The company Taser International launched a whole new electronic control device (ECD) at the 2016 SHOT Show. The personal defense weapon is made for non-law enforcement usage and is known as the Pulse. Compared with the existing C2 weapon intended for civilian use, the Pulse is hand gun shaped and is a bridge amongst the C2 as well as the X26 typically utilized by police departments.

Taser fashioned the Pulse to become more of an intuitive use gadget since many folks are acquainted with the way a pistol operates. It possesses a low profile thumb safety and angled sights to make it much more amenable to concealed carry. The replaceable cartridge has a 15 feet range.

Much like the X26, the unit possesses a built in red laser for targeting. In addition, the unit utilizes a LED white light for lighting. Based on my experience with the X26 in actual deployments, I found the laser performed well.

Similar to the C2, the Pulse is designed to deliver a variable electrical pulse over 30 seconds. The concept is this will permit the user to flee the scene if the probes are properly deployed. This differs from the products sold to law enforcement in which the pulse duration is a lot less: 5 seconds.
